James leads the firm’s information, information technology operations, security, and privacy functions to help maximize productivity and minimize business risk.
James brings 30 years of IT and cyber executive experience in Fortune 500 companies, and he holds CISSP and PMP certifications. He oversees teams responsible for the firm’s core technology infrastructure and networks, software applications, collaboration tools, cloud infrastructure, software development, docketing, and records.
James also ensures the firm’s security and privacy programs keep the firm’s data and computing environment secure, meet client security requirements, and comply with state, federal, and international laws. As a member of the firm’s Executive Leadership Team, he collaborates closely with firm leaders and practice group leaders to develop and implement the firm’s technology strategy.
James currently serves as the Rocky Mountain Information Security Conference Co-Chair and Advisor to the Board of the Information Systems Security Association, Denver Chapter. He previously served as President and Chairman, when the chapter grew to the world’s largest and received the ISSA Chapter of the Year award.
Before joining Holland & Hart, James worked as an Information Technology consultant for a range of corporations, city governments, universities, and professional organizations One of his projects included developing and implementing the Security Strategic Plan for the Denver International Airport.
