Andrew helps clients choose and register their trademarks both domestically and internationally and manages numerous trademark portfolios.

He works with individuals and companies of all sizes during all phases of their organizational life cycle. Andrew is particularly focused on businesses in the computer hardware and software, restaurant and food service, and engineered products industries.

Armed with a sales and marketing background, combined with his time with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), he has developed a deep understanding of the acquisition, development, and management of trademark rights.

Before joining Holland Hart, Andrew worked for more than four years at the USPTO as a Trademark Examining Attorney, moving into private practice with Kilpatrick Stockton in its Winston-Salem office where he practiced in the areas of trademark and copyright law.

  • Developed, implemented, and supervised worldwide policing strategy for famous brand owner in the food industry
  • Oversaw "clean up" of chain of title issues caused by multiple prior, unrecorded transfers and assignments involving over 600 trademark registrations in more than 65 countries for industrial products company
  • Managed and maintained U.S. and worldwide trademark portfolios for domestic and international corporations
  • Successfully managed numerous opposition and cancellation proceedings in dozens of foreign jurisdictions
