Elizabeth (Liz) Harding

Liz is a partner in our IP, Technology Transactions and Data Privacy/Cybersecurity teams.

She counsels clients on data privacy compliance, international privacy strategies, and the development of worldwide privacy and data protection policies and procedures.

Liz is a dual-qualified attorney in Colorado and England and Wales, having practiced in the UK for over ten years before moving to the US. She brings significant experience within EU privacy law, which provides her with a unique perspective on the compliance issues faced by US companies doing business in Europe. 

With the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) coming into effect in May 2018, Liz has been active in counseling numerous clients on how to prepare for, respond to, and implement the expected changes. She is able to apply unique insight into the application of EU privacy law to US organizations, offering pragmatic advice and analysis regarding territorial applicability of GDPR, compliance obligations and likelihood of risk and liability.  Liz is also an active speaker on the subject, giving numerous presentations on the new legislation and practical takeaways for US companies with international customers or operations. 

In addition to her privacy practice, Liz’s experience also includes drafting and negotiating advertising sales representation agreements for both regular television and online advertising, barter and trade agreements, and advertising sales terms and conditions. She also drafts and negotiates agreements related to software and hardware development, licensing, and support.

Liz’s clients are based in a variety of industries, including healthcare, media, entertainment, hotels, and retail.
