Tamara Reid practices in all areas of commercial and real estate litigation.

Understanding that litigation is sometimes part of business, Tamara offers guidance and solutions crafted to best meet her client’s business goals. Her courtroom experience extends to both state and federal courts in Nevada, as well as arbitration and mediation proceedings. Representative clients include Chemeon Surface Technology, Haws Corporation, and Newmont Mining Corporation. 

Tamara is also growing the Reno office’s trusts and estates litigation practice group, representing both individuals and professional trustees in probate, guardianship, estate, and trust administration matters. She works closely with her trusts and estates colleagues to craft comprehensive, personalized, and practical solutions for her clients.

Commercial Litigation 

Tamara works with clients from a broad range of industries who may be facing litigation for the first time, or are well-acquainted with the process. Her clients include property owners, local and national companies, banks, and developers. She guides clients through all phases of commercial litigation, including:

Nevada Supreme Court Cases
  • In re Estate of Bethurem, 129 Nev. Adv. Op. 92, 313 P. 3d 237 (2013) (in a matter of first impression argued to en banc court, court clarified applicable evidentiary standards in a will contest matter).

  • Galardi v. Naples Polaris, 129 Nev. Adv. Op. 33, 301 P.3d 364 (2013) (contractual dispute over terms of an option agreement, resulting in affirmance of grant of summary judgment by trial court).

  • Road & Highway Builders v. N. Nev. Rebar, 128 Nev. Adv. Op. 36, 284 P.3d 377(2012)(contractual dispute between subcontractor and general contractor, clarifying scope of a fraud in the inducement claim, affirming award of compensatory damages by trial court).

State Court Cases
  • In a breach of contract case arising out of a flood insurance coverage issue, obtained dismissal of all claims by homeowner against bank client.

  • In a breach of fiduciary duty case brought by minority shareholder, obtained summary judgment in favor of corporate client dismissing plaintiff’s dissenter’s rights claims.
