Addition of Abraham Smith Bolsters Holland & Hart's Nevada Appellate Team

Holland & Hart announced that experienced appellate attorney Abe Smith has joined the firm as a partner in the Las Vegas office, fortifying the firm’s appellate capabilities in Nevada.

“Abe is a preeminent Nevada appellate lawyer. In addition to being a brilliant thinker and strategist, his temperament and personality make him an ideal partner. We are delighted he has joined Holland & Hart,” said Greg Gilbert, Las Vegas Administrative Partner. Abe joins Lauren Wigginton, a former clerk to Justice Kristina Pickering and staff attorney to the Nevada Supreme Court. They lead a deep bench of attorneys with impressive appellate experience.  The combination of these attorneys’ written and oral advocacy with Abe’s stand-out ability to collaborate with clients and trial counsel to preserve issues and promote settlement will provide our clients with immense value. We are excited for what is on the horizon.”

With more than 200 appearances before the Nevada Supreme Court, the Nevada Court of Appeals, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, Abe is known throughout the state for his success at handling high-profile, novel cases. He has a reputation for excellence, civility, and his command of Nevada appellate procedure, having worked closely with the Nevada Supreme Court for three years to overhaul the Nevada Rules of Appellate Procedure.

“I’m delighted to join Holland & Hart’s team of talented advocates and look forward to building and expanding Holland & Hart’s premier appellate practice here in Nevada,” said Abe. “Our team shares a commitment to maximize value for clients by thinking creatively about appellate issues from the outset of litigation. I also appreciate the firm’s and the team’s commitment to provide legal services to those who cannot afford legal representation. This is one of the great privileges of being a lawyer.”
