Holland & Hart is proud to announce Alex Kimata, an intellectual property associate in the firm’s Boulder office, has been accepted to the IAPP class of Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP), enhancing the firm’s global data privacy and information security practice.
The FIP designation recognizes leaders in the privacy field and signifies that a privacy professional has demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of privacy laws, privacy program management, and essential data protection practices through the successful completion of two IAPP credentials.
For FIP consideration and selection, a privacy professional must earn a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) designation, as well as a earn a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), a Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), or an AI Governance Professional (AIGP) credential. Additionally, the candidate must document three years of work experience during which data privacy represents at least 50% of the job responsibility.

He advises clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies on privacy and data security matters, from starting a new privacy program to implementing sophisticated global data transfer mechanisms, to evaluating artificial intelligence frameworks. He also negotiates a variety of technology agreements, including SaaS, software and other licensing agreements, so companies can commercialize their intellectual property assets.
