Holland & Hart is pleased to share that Anne Henderson Haws, an associate in the firm’s Boise office, has been selected as an inaugural recipient of the University of Idaho College of Law Rising Star Award. This award recognizes demonstrated excellence and/or exceptional promise shown in the areas of integrity, competence, service, and leadership through work as a legal practitioner, service to the legal profession, service to the community, or service to business/state/national interests. The newly-established annual Rising Star Award is determined by a vote of the College of Law faculty and is given to an alumnus who has graduated within the past seven years. Anne will be honored during the College of Law’s faculty awards ceremony at the annual Bellwood Memorial Lecture on October 24.
Anne is a 2017 graduate of the University of Idaho College of Law. During law school, she served as Editor-in-Chief for the Idaho Law Review and received the Award for Distinguished Service as Editor-in-Chief. Since 2019, Anne has served as an adjunct professor at the College of Law, where she has lectured on Conflict of Laws and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. This Spring, Anne will return to the College of Law to teach Advanced Torts.
Anne is a civil litigator who practices with a focus on the strategic application of law and procedure. She regularly handles cases with issues involving federally regulated areas such as energy and environment, civil rights, as well as complex business-based suits and cases involving tort claims, including claims for defamation of professionals and businesses.
Anne currently serves as the Idaho State Membership Chair for the American Bar Association. She is also a member of the Local Rules Committee of the U.S. District Court, District of Idaho
Anne further represents her profession in numerous roles through committee, organization, and program involvement. She was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for Idaho Legal Aid Services (ILAS), and serves on the FUND Run Committee for Access to Justice, which raises funds for ILAS. Anne is the Chair of the Idaho Women Lawyers Judicial Committee and is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
