In response to the ever-growing concerns of cybersecurity threats in the healthcare industry, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently released the “Health Industry Cybersecurity Practices: Managing Threats and Protecting Patients.” This industry-led effort is the product of a two-year, public-private partnership by over 150 cybersecurity and healthcare experts from industry and government. Its aim is to provide cybersecurity best practices, improving the security and safety of patients, and cost-effectively reducing risks for a vast, diverse industry sector.

Please join us as we review this recent, consensus-based guidance, and discuss what HHS has identified as:

  • Current and common cybersecurity threats facing healthcare providers;
  • Best practices to mitigate cybersecurity threats;
  • How this guidance and these practices apply to healthcare organizations, large and small.
