Holland & Hart's Firm Chair Chris Balch participated in Law Week Colorado's 2024 partner roundtable discussion with partners from four other Denver-area law firms. The discussion focused on various topics impacting law firms, including AI policies, pricing/economic trends, and the balance of hybrid work. In the absence of legislation or regulation governing AI in law firms, the leaders discussed how firms are using AI safely and securely. Balch explained, “We do have a firm-wide policy,” and he added that this year, the firm’s Innovation Lab “developed our version of OpenAI. We call it Juvo Chat and it meets pretty stringent security standards, and with mandatory training, each of our lawyers can now use it…Our business professionals are using it all the time, conducting research. And then we’ve got an AI committee.”
