HHS' Revamped Section 1557 Anti-Discrimination Rules: Effects on Healthcare Entities

Webinar Only

The US Department of Health and Human Services published its final rules implementing the anti-discrimination provisions of the Affordable Care Act § 1557 (“2024 Final Rule”). The 2024 Final Rule revamps protections and requirements previously put in place by prior administrations, addresses discrimination concerns when using AI and other technology, and broadens the scope of entities that must comply with these new rules. Ally Kjellander and Jay DeVoy will address the 2024 Final Rule and its application in a free webinar on May 30, 2024, including:

  • Which healthcare entities must comply.
  • Section 1557 Coordinator’s responsibilities and correlating policies and procedures.
  • Requirements for the new anti-discrimination patient notices.
  • Requirements related to AI and other technologies used in healthcare.
  • Expanded protections for LGBTQI+ individuals.
  • Effect on other existing laws.
  • Effective dates for the various requirements.
