Holland & Hart LLP is pleased to announce that experienced real estate attorney Brian Cheney has joined the firm as a partner in its Real Estate practice. Cheney brings extensive experience orchestrating multifaceted real estate transactions, prioritizing clients' business objectives and long-term vision, while managing critical details at every stage.
Cheney advises owner/developers, resort operators, landlords, tenants, sellers, buyers, and real estate investors and borrowers on large-scale, mixed-use projects, including resort developments (hotel/condominium/retail/restaurant), office and industrial parks, multifamily, employee and affordable housing, and data centers. He provides comprehensive counsel throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept and acquisition through completion, leasing, operation, and disposition. He delivers value by developing the foundational transaction framework and overseeing and negotiating crucial details in supporting documents to advance clients' business objectives.
His practice also includes structuring innovative financing solutions, including arrangements with traditional financial institutions and government agencies such as HUD, Freddie Mac, and Fannie Mae.
"Brian's sophisticated experience handling virtually every facet of significant real estate projects, particularly in the resort, hospitality, and industrial sectors, adds meaningful depth to our real estate team," said Doug Flowers, Real Estate and Development Practice Group Leader. "Clients value his strategic approach to architecting deals and his ability to identify challenges, manage risk, all while creating practical solutions that keep projects moving forward."
"I'm excited to be part of a team and a firm that values teamwork and effectively collaborates across offices and practices to serve clients’ needs," said Cheney. "The firm's reputation for excellence and strong presence throughout the Mountain West provide an excellent platform for me to expand my practice and better serve clients across multiple jurisdictions, particularly in Nevada."
Before joining Holland & Hart, Cheney was a shareholder at Dentons and a partner at Snell & Wilmer. He also founded a Salt Lake City-based boutique real estate firm.
