Holland & Hart Advises Lithium Americas on Critical $2.26B Loan from Department of Energy

Holland & Hart represented Lithium Americas Corp. (Lithium Americas) on a $2.26 billion loan from the US Department of Energy’s (DOE) Loan Programs Office. The loan was issued under the Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing Loan Program and will finance the construction of facilities to process lithium from Thacker Pass mine, located in Humboldt County, Nevada, the largest confirmed lithium carbonate resource in North America.

In connection with the DOE loan, Holland & Hart advised as Nevada counsel on a number of complex regulatory and transactional issues from mining, real estate, and corporate issues, to environmental permitting and water rights.

Holland & Hart’s DOE loan team was led by mining group co-leader Laura Granier, with subject matter expertise from partners Bradley Boodt, Timothy Crisp, Doug Flowers, Andrew Folkerth, and Sandi Snodgrass, of counsel Megan Fogarty, associates Katy Brautigam, Hannah Carrese, Eric Dante, and paralegal Lori Argall.
