Holland & Hart is pleased to announce that partner Emily Schilling has been elected a 2025 Fellow of the American College of Environmental Lawyers (ACOEL). Each new ACOEL member has demonstrated exceptional depth of experience and has made substantial contributions to the field of environmental law. Newly elected fellows include professionals from private practice, academia, not-for-profit organizations, and government sectors.
The ACOEL is a professional association of distinguished lawyers who practice in the field of environmental law. Membership is by invitation only, with members recognized by their peers as preeminent in their field. ACOEL members are dedicated to maintaining and improving the ethical practice of environmental law, the administration of justice, and the development of environmental law at both state and federal levels.
Emily provides strategic counsel to companies of all sizes navigating complex air quality challenges. She leverages her technical skills and national experience to advise clients across industry sectors in the development of air quality permitting and compliance strategies, and to represent clients in enforcement actions and rulemaking proceedings before state agencies and the federal Environmental Protection Agency. Emily has substantial experience drafting comments and petitions for reconsideration on behalf of clients in federal Clean Air Act rulemakings and representing clients in challenges to federal rulemakings in the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.
Emily serves in leadership roles with several industry organization, including as co-chair of the Air Quality Subcommittee of Environment for the Utah Manufacturers’ Association and on the board of Utah Clean Air (UCAIR) partnership.
Emily currently leads the firm’s Environmental and Natural Resources practice group.
