Holland & Hart represented Brimstone Energy, a venture-backed R&D company which uses proprietary technology to produce carbon-neutral Portland cement and supplementary cementitious materials, in its $5.1 million Seed financing. The company also received $2 million in grants from ARPA-E, the National Science Foundation, and others. The financing round was co-led by DCVC and Breakthrough Energy Ventures (BEV).
The financing will be used to accelerate development of the first-ever zero-carbon Portland cement and go towards supporting Brimstone Energy’s vision to eliminate the 8% of global CO2 emissions produced in cement manufacturing.
The Holland & Hart transactional team was led by corporate partner Sam Edwards, with assistance from Matt Abell and Leah Neumann.
