Holland & Hart announced that experienced corporate finance attorney George Singer has joined the firm as a partner in its Denver office, strengthening the firm’s capabilities in debt and equity financing and credit restructuring and workouts.
George works closely with lenders, borrowers, and administrative agents, as well as private equity firms and their portfolio companies, on complex debt and equity financings as well as mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactions.
When companies or loans are in distress or default, George draws on decades of credit restructuring, workout, and bankruptcy experience to help clients develop and negotiate creative solutions to business and legal problems. He served as bankruptcy, corporate, and M&A counsel to Polaroid Corporation in its Chapter 11 bankruptcy case and was instrumental in leading a team that represented the Chapter 11 trustee and receiver in one of country’s largest Ponzi scheme cases, In re Petters Company, Inc. George is currently helping clients navigate the legal and business issues arising from the recent collapse of Silicon Valley Bank.
“George is a seasoned finance strategist and a great addition to our team. Clients value his ability to structure loans and other credit arrangements and negotiate terms that protect their interests and effectively manage risk,” said Hugh O’Halloran leader of the firm’s Finance team. “As an experienced restructuring practitioner and Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy, he also adds depth to our distressed assets team that helps clients navigate troubled loans and maximize asset recovery.”
“I’m delighted to be working with Holland & Hart’s sophisticated corporate and finance teams,” said George. The firm’s collaborative team approach allows me to add value to a variety of strategic corporate transactions and my clients benefit from the specialized subject matter expertise of other team members. It’s rewarding to work with colleagues who share my business-focused, creative approach to clients’ legal and operational problems.”
Before joining Holland & Hart, George was a partner at Ballard Spahr LLP in Minneapolis. George is temporarily authorized to practice in Colorado pending admission under C.R.C.P. 205.6.
