Idaho Parents' Rights in Medical Decision-Making Act: New Limits on Minor Consents

Webinar Only

The Idaho legislature has passed a new law that will generally (1) require healthcare providers to obtain parental consent to treat unemancipated minors and (2) give parents a right to access their minor’s records.  Failure to comply with the new law will subject providers to private lawsuits.  The new law takes effect July 1, 2024.  Kim Stanger will address the new law and its application in a free webinar on April 23, 2024, including:

  • Obtaining consent from parents and limited exceptions.
  • Granting parental access and limited exceptions.
  • Effect on other existing laws.
  • Liability for violations.
  • What providers need to do to implement the new law.
