Jim Spaanstra Elected to the Board of Regents of the American College of Environmental Lawyers

Holland & Hart is pleased to share that partner Jim Spaanstra has been elected to serve a three-year term on the American College of Environmental Lawyers (ACOEL) Board of Regents, one of the most prestigious positions of the ACOEL. Jim was inducted in 2009 as an ACOEL Fellow.

ACOEL is a professional association of distinguished lawyers who practice in the field of environmental law. Membership is by invitation and members are recognized by their peers as preeminent in their field. ACOEL members are dedicated to: maintaining and improving the ethical practice of environmental law; the administration of justice; and the development of environmental law at both the state and federal level. All officers and regents elected by the members serve on a voluntary basis and donate their time to ensure the College operates efficiently.

Jim leverages extensive experience permitting complex projects in the Mountain West involving complicated environmental issues to help companies build defensible permitting records and remain in compliance with ever-changing environmental regulatory regimes. He provides sophisticated guidance to industrial and commercial clients with solid and hazardous waste operations on a variety of matters to protect their investments, and minimize and mitigate liabilities. Jim has helped multiple jurisdictions establish voluntary brownfields and clean-up initiatives throughout the country.
