Michael has negotiated dozens of entitlement documents with cities and counties on behalf of private developers across Utah and the Rocky Mountain West. He provides counsel on various public finance mechanisms, including tax increment financing and public infrastructure districts.
As counsel to clients involved in mountain resorts development, mixed-use developments, and public improvement projects, Michael has guided clients through acquisitions, dispositions, development, due diligence, entitlements, and financial incentives. His practice also includes representing landowners and developers before land use authorities, land use appeal authorities, the Utah Property Ombudsman, and in state and federal court proceedings.
Prior to joining Holland & Hart, Michael practiced real estate as an associate attorney for Snell & Wilmer LLP. He also served as a Judicial Law Clerk for Honorable District Judge Ted Stewart of the United States District Court, District of Utah.
