Stephen leverages 15 years in construction management when counseling clients through all phases of construction, including resolving disputes.
Stephen has worked on large design-build and public works projects as well as smaller-scale commercial and residential projects. Collaborating with clients, he has resolved quantity overruns, differing site condition claims, wage disputes, construction defect claims, acceleration and delay claims, and breach of contract disputes.
Clients turn to Stephen for support through mediation, arbitration, settlement, and litigation. He has experience with jury trials and appeals.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Stephen worked in various project management and project engineer roles with large civil, building, and development companies in Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, and Denver. This experience gave Stephen valuable perspectives of the construction process from the start of a project through completion, and across a range of projects including freeways, mass grading, pipelines, multifamily housing, and maritime construction.
Stephen joins Holland & Hart from a boutique litigation firm. He served as a law clerk to Judge Kristina Pickering of the Nevada Supreme Court and worked as a legal extern for Judge Elizabeth Gonzalez of the Nevada Eighth Judicial District Court and Judge James C. Mahan of the US District Court for the District of Nevada.
