Shad represents clients in a broad range of real estate transactions, including real estate lending, development, land use, and renewable energy.
Shad guides clients through the development of renewable energy projects, with a focus on wind, solar, and battery storage. He assists stakeholders in navigating the complexities of due diligence, zoning, and entitlements (including easements), and in obtaining necessary permits at both the state and federal levels. Shad also represents clients in the acquisition and disposition of properties, as well as negotiating leases for solar and wind farms.
Shad provides comprehensive support to clients at all stages of commercial real estate development, including assisting clients in development and land use transactions ranging from simple retail transactions to large scale, multisite shopping center development transactions. In addition, he advises clients on fractional ownership and HOA interests.
Prior to re-joining Holland & Hart, Shad worked as in-house real estate counsel to a leading renewable energy company within the US. He regularly advises renewable energy clients regarding complex diligence and real estate matters associated with utility-scale renewable energy projects.
