For ten years, Amelia was Executive Vice President at Cassidy & Associates, a leading bipartisan government relations firm. She led the energy and environment practice, advising clients ranging from Fortune 50 companies to energy developers, local governments, and non-profit organizations on a range of energy and environmental issues. Her experience includes developing and implementing policy and political strategies to support projects involving natural gas pipelines, wind projects, and interstate transmission lines, among others.
Her Congressional experience includes serving the House Committee on Natural Resources as the Deputy Staff Director and Senior Policy Advisor, as a Senior Advisor/Staff Director of the Subcommittee on Water and Power, and as a Senior Legislative Staff member for the Forest and Forest Health, Oceans, and Wildlife Subcommittees. She also served as Legislative Director and senior policy advisor to the Chair of the Democratic Policy Committee.
As the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs of the Department of Energy (DOE), Amelia was the lead strategist for bipartisan outreach to elected officials and worked on the political, congressional, and intergovernmental implications of major DOE programs and policies.
