Holland & Hart LLP is pleased to announce that sophisticated government affairs and lobbying professional Amelia Jenkins Morales has joined the firm as Senior Director of Federal Affairs, rounding out the firm’s bipartisan Washington, DC-based Federal Affairs team.
Amelia is a savvy strategist, adept at developing policy and political approaches to help clients solve complex energy and environmental challenges. She leverages her extensive experience working in Congress, the Executive Branch, and private industry, to identify legislators’ political and policy priorities and develop tailored solutions that meet her clients’ business goals. She draws on relationships with bipartisan federal government stakeholders and develops innovative strategies to position her clients with key decision-makers to maximize advocacy opportunities.
Most recently, Amelia led the energy and environment practice at Cassidy & Associates, advising clients ranging from Fortune 50 companies to energy developers, local governments, and non-profit organizations on a range of energy and environmental issues. As Executive Vice President, she developed policy and political strategies for clients in all sectors of the energy industry, including extractive (oil and gas, mining) and renewable (wind, solar).
Amelia also brings deep public sector experience, serving as the Deputy Staff Director and Senior Policy Advisor for the House Committee on Natural Resources, and as a Senior Advisor/Staff Director of the Subcommittee on Water and Power. As the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs of the Department of Energy (DOE), Amelia was the lead strategist for bipartisan outreach to elected officials and worked on the political, congressional, and intergovernmental implications of major DOE programs and policies.
