Holland & Hart represented Clearway Energy Group (Clearway), a leading integrated clean energy company with the 5th largest renewable operating fleet in the US, in the negotiation of four Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) agreements with Rosendin Electric, Inc. for the battery energy storage systems (BESS) projects in its $605 million Honeycomb portfolio in Utah, as well as the BESS equipment supply agreements and long-term service agreements. Each 80-megawatt (MW) project will use four-hour Tesla batteries and collectively store up to 1,280 MWh of dispatchable power.
Clearway recently announced it has closed financing and begun construction on the Honeycomb BESS portfolio. Once complete, Honeycomb will contribute $60 million in property and sales taxes to the local community over the life of the projects to support area schools, hospitals, and other public services.
